BM3 Dan Chambers stated on 16 Jun 03: "I believe that picture (above) was in 1968. It was at the time we were in dry dock and the forward 3" gun was removed. If you look the forward 3" gun is not in front of the bridge. It was there on the South America Cruise in 1967. This (removal of MT31) was completed in 1968 before the shake down cruise and subsequent 1969 Vietnam Cruise."
