  J Geils Band - 14 August 2010
Fenway Park

(With Aerosmith)

"Fenway Park! Are you ready to see some history?"
Peter Wolf, Lead Singer, The J. Geils Band
Fenway Park
14 August 2010

Well, I was correct when I wrote the comments you see below (starting with "Dateline 9 April 2010...") The J Geils Band rocked Fenway like never before with the following set:

1. First I Look at the Purse
2. Hard Drivin' Man ... oh, how Magic Dick played the harmonica...
3. Southside Shuffle
4. Give It To Me
5. Lookin’ for a Love
6. Night Time
7. Freeze Frame (keyboardist Seth Justman played the opening notes)
8. Give It to Me
9. Must of Got Lost (Wolf running into the crowd)
10. Love Stinks
11. Encore: Centerfold (Simply Brilliant!)

Dateline 9 April 2010: It's Official! The J. Geils Band will perform at Boston’s Fenway Park Aug. 14 with Aerosmith. The announcement of the "Double Play" concert was made 7 April Boston homeboys Peter Wolf and Steven Tyler at the top of the 4th inning of the Red Sox/Yankees game at Fenway. This will be FIRST time ever both bands will perform on stage together. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m.

The J. Geils Band was formed in 1967 and hails from Worcester, Mass.

"If it's rock and roll, we've got it," Wolf said.

I suspect Aerosmith will be the headliner. Mark my words, “Geils” will steal the show. I witnessed the same thing in the ‘70s numerous times. JGB has stolen about as many shows as Foghat has.

See you there, Woody
