USS MULLINNIX DD-944

Haiti 1972

L to R: RM3 Roger Rothweiler, RM3 Richard Smith, and RM3 Roger Fletcher with 'the locals'

A lot of the crew members on Mullinnix purchased solid mahogany figurines, etc. while in Haiti. However, a lot of it was either full of bugs and had to be destroyed or was carved from green wood and literally split apart before we got back to Norfolk. As the picture above demonstrates, some of it has survived after all these years. This is a +-3 ½ ft statue in Frank Wood's office. As of 2022 I still have it.
